Modalities (Massage Styles) and Products -
Each massage is tailored to the individual & their needs. While I have trained in many different styles, relaxation is the general base of my massage with other aspects & styles thrown in along the way. It can be focused in one area or an all over general massage with varying pressures depending on the client & their motivation for the visit. The time is yours so I am here to work with what you wish to achieve from your session.
I have used many products since I first started out, my preference now being a New Zealand made product called Extreme. They have a wide range of options and the ones I have currently in stock are a Plain Cream (like a moisturiser), a Sports Cream (The same base at the Plain but with some added goodies). And then there is also a massage wax (solid massage oil) with a citrus scent.
Relaxation Massage :
This is a general massage for the whole body or focused on specific areas, the strokes are long & flowing with pressure being adjusted to suit the receiver’s needs. This is the base for most massage styles and an excellent introduction for a first time client.
Holistic Pulsing:
Gentle rhythmic rocking movements are applied to the body including wave like movement which stimulates all fluid systems allowing more freedom in the joints, muscles & organs. This is also really good if you are new to massage or are having trouble letting go of stress & relaxing.
Ortho-Bionomy:
Techniques link to the body’s nervous system, releasing areas of tension & restoring normal function. Developed from Osteopathy to release tension through exaggerating the body’s preferred position, also known as Positional Release. This is non invasive & is generally fully clothed unless performed in conjunction with another more traditional massage style.
Polarity/Energy Balancing:
Energy/electric fields are important to the function of our bodies, this is primarily a ‘hands off’ clothed session including ‘Chakra Balancing’ & ‘Meridian Flushing’. Elements from this modality are incorporated into the ending sequence for most of my sessions.
Relaxation Techniques for Stress:
A very slow gentle massage designed to relax you, to help you become aware of & change your breathing patterns and to release your bodies holding of stress. Most often I link this in with Holistic Pulsing as the two together are very relaxing.
On-Site Chair Massage:
Portable massage for the workplace, this is fully clothed and with minimal downtime, usually performed in your office, at your desk or at sporting events due to its portable nature. Sessions are usually 10 to 15 minutes in length. This is only available for group bookings.
Sports Massage:
Although trained in this style I do not generally offer it as I have found peoples expectation of a Sports massage is far removed from what one actually is. This is mostly done without the use of oil or lotion, it is brisk & fast, designed to increase blood flow & stimulate the muscles before competition or for a sporting event.
